Automating Rapid & Accurate Soil Sampling for Precision Agriculture

Agronomic Soil Testing

Maximize your crop quality while reducing the economic and environmental impact.

Geophyta provides lab-quality soil analysis with over 25 years of direct experience at prices affordable by any farmer. Using point-point accurate GPS, we collect numerous soil specimens for composite grid analysis. In the laboratory, each sample is hand prepared and analyzed with our in-house spectrometer to determine, soil acidity (pH), available phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and organic matter testing. Additionally, we are able to process herbicide residue, as well as plant and nutrient analysis, if required. This data is then used to craft a cost effective strategy to enable both maximum crop yield, minimizing loss.

Crop Consulting for Farmers

Maximize your potential through integrated pest management.

Geophyta provides a custom field inspection service to identify weed, insect, and disease pressures and potentials in your croplands. Through effective monitoring, we can recommend appropriate herbicide, insecticide, and fungicide application to minimize loss and maximize your production.

Soil testing for non-farmers

Maximize something something Agronomics for Non-Farmers headline.

Geophyta can provide custom scientific analysis of collected soil samples for non- agronomic applications. Whether you are a home owner and gardener or lawn, landscape, and greens keeping personnel, Geophyta has an affordable solution for you. You collect and ship the samples, we provide the analysis and fertilizer recommendations in one easy step!

Why pick an INDEPENDENT consultant?

Not only does Geophyta provide affordable scientific analysis and experience to our clients, we provide an unbiased and independent view. Our scientific staff is solely focused on meeting the client’s goals of maximizing economic yield. Your success is our primary goal.

Dirt vs. Soil

Point of fact: DIRT is misplaced soil, akin to what you sweep up in your kitchen or garage floor. SOIL is a living breathing entity which covers the earth’s surface and offers stabilization of our environment supporting all plant growth to sustain our Earth.

Nobody knows soil like we do.

Nathan Wright

“I have spent my entire life in, on, or around the business of Ohio Agronomics. From a young boy on the farm to a scientist in the laboratory, my dream has always been the pursuit of crop excellence. Through the judicious application of science, good old fashioned common sense, and elbow grease, together we can build a stronger agronomic landscape across America.”

Home Septic System Soil Evaluation and Design

Soil is the primary medium for treatment of home sewage. Soil is needed to remove pathogens, organic matter, and some nutrients to prevent contamination of our environment. A proper soil description and evaluation, plus accurate septic system design is important to accomplish all these tasks. We provide a comprehensive service from initial site and soil evaluation through final septic system design. By law, all site evaluations and designs must be approved by local health departments, which Geophyta has extensive experience. Geophyta is registered by county in Ohio and has the experience to get your system designed, approved, and delivered fast and efficiently.

Soil and Crop Research

Geophyta has a fully qualified and experienced staff to implement and support any contract soil and crop research or scientific experimentation related to soil and crop production. We are able to create, manage, and document live field and test trials. Previously we have performed much research around herbaceous energy crops (switch grass production, etc), proprietary herbicide efficacy studies, and automated precision soil sample collection (patented).
